Types of Therapies We Offer

Therapies offered at psychologistonline.in can be classified broadly into Talk Therapies and Expressive Therapies.

In Talk Therapies, we have:

CBT

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a type of psychological treatment which has been established to be effectual for a variety of problems including anxiety disorders, depression, alcohol & drug use problems, eating disorders, marital problems, and severe mental illnesses.

In CBT, one of our therapists at Psychologistonline.in will work with you to identify and challenge any of your negative thinking patterns & behavior that may probably be causing you difficulties. Eventually, this can alter the way you perceive situations and help/enable you to change your response / behavior to the better in future.

NLP

Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) involves analyzing the strategies employed by successful people and applying those strategies to attain a personal goal. It generally relates language, thoughts, and patterns of behavior that are learned via experience to specific outcomes.

NLP is known to reach the subconscious mind; hence, therapists use this technique to help people with anxieties and phobias.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy helps people consciously pay attention to their feelings and thoughts without placing any judgments.

Our mental health professionals use Mindfulness to help gain psychological insight and promote emotional healing. Mindfulness-based interventions are generally used to relieve symptoms of depression, anxiety, stress, and physical pain.

Solution Focused Therapy

Solution focused therapy happens to be a goal-directed, future-oriented approach aimed at solving various problems of humans.

In this therapy, the therapist focuses on the health of the client instead of the problem; the individual’s strengths and weaknesses are studies and coping skills and resources are suggested to help attain future goals.

Person Centered Counselling

Person-centered counselling is a humanistic approach which deals with the ways in which a person perceives oneself consciously, rather than how a counselor interprets his/her unconscious ideas or thoughts.

It is generally used with clients to overcome depression, grief, anxiety, or stress.

Dialectical behavioral therapy

Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) is used by our therapists to identify and change the patterns of negative thinking and push the individual toward positive behavioral changes.

DBT is often used to treat suicidal & other self-destructive behaviors.

Psychodynamic therapy

Psychodynamic therapy focuses mainly on the psychological root cause of emotional suffering.

Self-reflection and self-examination are its hallmarks.

Integrative therapy

Integrative therapy is an approach used by psychologists to heal and ease life’s problems by increasing the resilience and personal resources of an individual.

It incorporates the basic principles of holistic medicine and traditional psychotherapy to foster healing on all levels: mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual.

In Expressive Therapies, we include:

Play Therapy

Play therapy is an important type of expressive therapy generally used to treat the mental health conditions of children.

Through play therapy, kids learn to express their feelings, communicate with others, modify behavior, learn new skills, develop problem-solving skills, and so on.

We have expert play therapists in our panel who have years of experience treating a lot of children using play therapy.

Art Therapy

Art therapy is a form of creative healing.

It is a specific area of mental health which uses art materials and creative processes to explore emotions, increase self-esteem, reduce anxiety, and resolve a range of psychological issues and conflicts.

Sand Therapy

Sand therapy is a therapeutic approach employed for individuals who have experienced a traumatic event like abuse or a catastrophic incident.

While this therapy is most often used with children, it can also be equally helpful for teens and adults.
